Equipped with the right applications, a computer can be of great help in virtually any domain of activity. When it comes to designing and precision, no other tool is as accurate as a computer. Moreover, specialized applications such as AutoCAD give you the possibility to design nearly anything ranging from art, to complex mechanical parts or even buildings.
Suitable for business environments and experienced users
After a decent amount of time spent installing the application on your system, you are ready to fire it up. Thanks to the office suite like interface, all of its features are cleverly organized in categories. At a first look, it looks easy enough to use, but the abundance of features it comes equipped with leaves room for second thoughts.
Create 2D and 3D objects
You can make use of basic geometrical shapes to define your objects, as well as draw custom ones. Needless to say that you can take advantage of a multitude of tools that aim to enhance precision. A grid can be enabled so that you can easily snap elements, as well as adding anchor points to fully customize shapes.
With a little imagination and patience on your behalf, nearly anything can be achieved. Available tools allow you to create 3D objects from scratch and have them fully enhanced with high-quality textures. A powerful navigation pane is put at your disposal so that you can carefully position the camera to get a clearer view of the area of interest.
Various export possibilities
Similar to a modern web browser, each project is displayed in its own tab. This comes in handy, especially for comparison views. Moreover, layouts and layers also play important roles, as it makes objects handling a little easier.
Sine the application is not the easiest to carry around, requiring a slightly sophisticated machine to properly run, there are several export options put at your disposal so that the projects itself can be moved around.
Aside from the application specific format, you can save as an image file of multiple types, PDF, FBX and a few more. Additionally, it can be sent via email, directly printed out on a sheet of paper, or even sent to a 3D printing service, if available.
To end with
All in all, AutoCAD remains one of the top applications used by professionals to achieve great precision with projects of nearly any type. It encourages usage with incredible offers for student licenses so you get acquainted with its abundance of features early on. A lot can be said about what it can and can't do, but the true surprise lies in discovering it step-by-step.

AutoCAD Activation Code went through several major versions after 1982, with each version being released every six months to a year. AutoCAD 2013 was released in October 2012 and AutoCAD LT 2013 in September 2013. Each AutoCAD release includes a major revision and performance improvements, as well as added features and more sophisticated algorithms. In 2010, Autodesk purchased technical drawing tool maker CorelDRAW for an undisclosed sum and merged the technologies into AutoCAD and released it as AutoCAD 2010.
Since its initial release, AutoCAD has been widely adopted by the CAD industry. One of the most popular features is the capability to perform a “freehand” drawing in 2D or 3D, which allows the user to start from scratch without any predefined elements. This is typically how technical drawing is used, rather than for architectural drafting.
This year, AutoCAD received several upgrades in areas such as a revamped user interface and new features for 3D drawing and 3D modeling. AutoCAD 2014 was released in October 2013, and includes major improvements in the areas of time and again drafting, a process of quickly designing a drawing that has been previously designed. This feature is called Time and Schedule Design, and it incorporates the latest enhancements of the drafting component of AutoCAD. The new drafting features are called DWG Technology, and are based on the DGN file format. The release also includes improvements in the area of plotter output, and allows users to download and install the latest major release, AutoCAD 2015, without having to purchase a new computer.
AutoCAD is compatible with Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. A Linux-based version of AutoCAD, AutoCAD LT, is also available.
AutoCAD has a history of being offered at a cost for a perpetual license on a yearly basis. In addition to the cost of the application itself, users also need to purchase the related licenses, which can be expensive.
AutoCAD was originally developed by a team led by two Autodesk employees, Guy Eric Schilden and Adam Hyde. The first public release of AutoCAD was in December 1982. The company was later acquired by Corel, which was acquired by Novell in 2008. Autodesk then purchased Novell in 2011, and is now known as Autodesk.
AutoCAD was originally created to manage technical drawing, which

Autodesk AutoCAD can be used to create architectural design workstation, mechanical, and electrical design. There are various software design applications, each with different capabilities. AutoCAD uses different technologies, such as the DGN (Drawing) standard, a rasterized vector graphics model.
Raster data, most notably bitmap images, can be created by a variety of applications, including graphics programs, word processing applications and other programs. DGN is a raster file format. However, many drawings, especially large ones, can be very inefficient to render and store in raster format due to the size of the bitmap images required to represent the drawing. In a digital environment, this problem is easily solved by using vector graphics. There are many vector graphics applications that are capable of creating professional looking output and are used for making technical drawings. With a vector drawing, all objects are stored as mathematical equations. Unlike raster images, there is no degradation in quality as the size of the drawing increases.
The DGN standard is a vector drawing standard and an interchange format used by AutoCAD. It is developed by the Autodesk Corporation to store vector data. DGN was introduced in 1987 as an internal format for AutoCAD. In 1998, it was approved as a third-party format.
A DGN file is a single file, in which several drawings are stored. A DGN file usually contains several drawings, although the specification for files with more than a few drawings has not been finalised. A DGN file is normally called “dgn” for short.
Though it is a vector drawing standard, a dgn file is displayed in a raster format. This has the advantage of allowing you to see the details of the drawing. However, you must be able to load and edit the file on a computer using a vector graphics application. DGNs are very large files. AutoCAD can display a maximum of five layers in a drawing. The standard allows for more layers but these are not supported in most popular applications.
In addition to the standard dgn file format, AutoCAD also supports rasterized dgn files and binary dgn files.
DGN is an informal extension of the earlier CADBPS standard, a binary file format proposed by HP for CAD applications. It was first adopted by Autodesk in 1986 and refined in 1987 with the introduction of AutoCAD, and again in 1989
